Xiana Mining is a TSX-V  listed mining company focused on its producing operations and development properties in Region IV, Chile. Xiana acquired ownership of 100% of Minera Altos de Punitaqui (“MAP”) from Glencore plc in November 2018. MAP comprises of four producing copper-gold mines, a 3,600 tpd concentrator and associated infrastructure.

Since the closing of the acquisition, Xiana has quickly moved towards executing an optimisation plan aimed at reducing costs, extending mine life and improving profitability.

MAP owns a total of land package comprising of 11,838 hectares in Region IV comprising of exploration and exploitation concessions. Xiana is focussed on proving up the district scale potential of MAP’s properties which will continue to provide sustainable feed for the concentrator and provide sustainable and increased production growth in the medium term at low cash costs.

Xiana is also engaged in the ongoing evaluation of producing and development stage mineral resource opportunities on an ongoing basis. The Company’s common shares are principally listed on the TSX-V under the symbol XIA.

Board of Directors AND Corporate Management

Carlos Ballon

DIRECTOR

Mr. Ballon has over 30 years of experience in mining, predominantly in South American countries. Mr. Ballon served as general manager of the Santander mine in Peru from 1985 to 1993, the Santander mine is now owned by Trevali and he was Chairman of Trevali until 2011. In the early 2000’s, Mr. Ballon served as a director of Thiess, Australia’s largest contract miner, for the South American region. During his time with Thiess he was responsible for the management of major engineering works at the Tintaya mine and the Yanaocha mine in Peru.  

Mr. Ballon has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. 

Robert Baxter

DIRECTOR

Mr. Baxter brings over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, principally in Latin America. From May 2000 to September 2000, Mr. Baxter held the position of Business Development Coordinator Americas for North Limited, a senior Australian mining company acquired by Rio Tinto PLC in October 2000. At North Limited Mr. Baxter also held the positions of Regional Geologist, Americas, from June 1999 to May 2000 and Regional Manager, Chile/Argentina, from November 1996 to June 1999. Previously, Mr. Baxter was a Director of Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. and was also a director of Chariot Resources Ltd., which was sold to China Sci Tech, a Hong Kong listed company. Mr. Baxter was the Chairman of the Board of Marcobre S.A.C., a 100% fully owned subsidiary of China Sci Tech, until September 2010. He was President, Director and Chief Operating Officer of Norsemont Mining Inc. until March 2011 when the company was acquired by Hudbay Minerals. He is currently the General Manager of Baxter Consultants Engineering, a consulting company located in Peru and a Director of Pan Global Resources Inc.

Mr. Baxter has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) degree from the University of New South Wales and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM).

Antony (Tony) J. Drescher

DIRECTOR

Mr. Drescher, CPA, CMA, has over 35 years of experience as an executive and consultant in various industries including mining, telecommunications, technology and waste management. Mr. Drescher is currently a Director and Chair of the Audit Committees of Corvus Gold Inc, International Tower Hill Mines Ltd. and a member of the Audit Committee of Trevali Mining Corporation, all public mining companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He is also a director and officer of several other public companies including Oculus VisionTech Inc., RavenQuest BioMed Inc. and River Wild Exploration Inc. He is the founding President and Director of Harbour Pacific Capital Corp., a private British Columbian company that provides consulting services for mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, debt and equity financings and regulatory filings.

Mr. Drescher has been a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant since 1981.

Timothy Moody

DIRECTOR

Mr. Moody has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, including mineral exploration, resource assessment, business development, strategy and government relations. This includes 24 years with Rio Tinto from 1992 to 2015. During 2005-2010, he was exploration Director for the Project Generation Group and the Asia Region, and from 2010 to 2015, he was Vice President and Director for Business Development. Mr. Moody has an impressive track record in discovery of mineral resources and commercial transactions in Australia, Asia, Latin America, Africa, Europe and North America. This includes leading the teams in identification and exploration of several projects now in feasibility and/or production in Peru, including Mina Justa, Constancia, La Granja, Corani and Ollachea. As Director of Business Development at Rio Tinto, his responsibilities included corporate strategy, M&A and public market transactions. His work in the international arena has provided him an impressive network of business and government contacts.

Mr. Moody has a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of New England. He is a graduate of the Senior Leadership Program from the London Business School, a graduate of the Business Leadership Development Program from the Australian Graduate School of Management, and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists.

Carlos Ballon

Mr. Ballon has over 30 years of experience in mining, predominantly in South American countries. Marla Ritchie

Corporate Secretary

Marla brings over 25 years’ experience in public markets working as an Administrator and Corporate Secretary specializing in resource based exploration companies. She has been the Corporate Secretary for Xiana since May 2018 and is currently also the corporate secretary for other select TSX listed companies.
